You (Understood) finds Crain and her band adding new flavors into their roots rock, most notably more angular and jarring electric guitar elements. The new direction still works well in context of Crain’s overall body of work due to the unique and powerful draw of her voice and the storytelling nature of her lyrics, both which remain as fresh and compelling as they have been on previous releases. It’s good stuff, and you should check it out.
