Today we talk ever so briefly with Ryan Sollee from the group The Builders and The Butchers about the evolution of the band, their new album and Cambodian funeral music.
Our pals over at History.com informed us that it was this day in 1940 that Woody Guthrie wrote the classic “This Land is Your Land.” As Bruce Springsteen puts it in this totally sweet, glistening, clip from 1985 – it’s pretty much the greatest song ever written about America.
Dedicating this one to everyone fighting for the rights of the working class in Wisconsin, here in Indiana and everywhere else. Maybe one day this song will be a celebration song instead of a protest song.
Last week we were rocking our vintage non-ironic Guns N’ Roses Appetite for Destruction (greatest rock record of the 80’s in our opinion) t-shirt and frolicking in the sunshine.
