POSTCARD ELBA

While homebodies by nature, we do regularly muster the single malt courage to go out into the world and experience music in the flesh, and we document these excursions in Where the Bus Pass Took Us.

Last Sunday we caught a set by our old friends Pokey Lafarge and the South City Three. Check out some videos of the good times below.

This was Pokey’s first visit to Bloomington with the South City Three, and despite a small turnout that night at the Bishop for their show, they made true believers of everyone in attendance. People vote with their dollars, as they say, and the fact that every single person in attendance dutifully lined up at the merch table after their set showed that Bloomington was voting Pokey Lafarge. I’ve always said that they’re the real deal, and here’s a few songs of them proving me right.

Here’s “Hard Times Come Hard Times Go” which is worth watching if only for the speed metal style guitar solo that kicks in at the 3:15 mark. Seriously.

The night was opened up by Davy Jay Sparrow and His Well Known Famous Drovers, who were fantastic as per usual. We’re looking forward to Pokey and the Three’s return to Bloomington, but in the meantime you can catch them at one of their upcoming shows listed below.
