This Day In Music History

Today is the birthday of the mighty Maxine Brown who navigated soul, jazz and pop with equal deftness. Born in 1939 she had a string of hits in the 60’s for Wand Records including this song, penned by Carole King and Gerry Goffin. This performance also features a young Bernie Worrell of Parliament-Funkadelic fame on piano.
