Mississippi-based Water Liars made this record in 2015 at Matt Pence’s (Centro-Matic) Echo Lab studio in Argyle, Texas. Shit happened as it tends to, the songs were shelved and band moved on to other creations. Always looking for a bright side, one I find pandemic-related is that many good albums may never have been heard without artists finding time to finish them while sheltering. Roll On is one of my favorite new old releases of 2020 and “Sing, Barbarian” is the best song on the record. Previous Water Liars and all Justin Peter Kinkel-Schuster and Andrew Bryant projects are worth diving into. Check it out here.
