“Overture” by Personal Space combines the midwest emo mathy noodling of American Football with the vocal melodies of XTC and hot damn does it work. For a genre that eschewed hooks for complex rhythms and a multitude of guitar chords per song, “Overture” proves you can do both and do it very, very well.
