“Automobile” by La Sanya Dengue turns singer Simon Lindberg’s near death experience of getting run over by a car into a menacing and muscular song that blurs the line between punk and post punk to powerful results. Lindberg’s vocals have a definite Jello Biafra influence and if you’d told us this was one of Jello’s post Dead Kennedys one off collaborations we’d believe it. It’s a driving (no pun intended) number that is tight and locked in right at the edge, threatening to lose control at any minute. In other words, Grade A punk.
