First Class International – Vol. 2

First Class International is our new occasional column highlighting the best foreign language submissions.

Today we have music from around the globe from LaPara, BRVMAS and Bandolera.

LaPara – “Il gealto non ha gusto”
From Italy and our first repeat artist for the FCI column is LaPara. Whereas her last single “Traballa” was a driving bedroom pop jam, this one is a slow funky strut but with all of the lo-fi charm still in tact.

BRVMAS – “Morfina”
From Brazil we get a post-punk gem from BRVMAS. Lots of classic darkwave goodness here, from atmospheric gothy vocals, steadily plucked bass lines and nervy guitar leads. Bands who draw from the this particular well of early alternative music are some of our favorites, and BRVMAS is no exception.

Bandolera – “Bandolera”
From Chile we have Bandolera with a latin pop bop that reminds us that you don’t have to reinvent the wheel to stand out. If you made a checklist of what you expect in a chart topping latin hit this song would have every box marked in sharpie, but even coloring within the lines Bandolera has made a masterpiece. This is a banger that would bring any party to life.
