Wordless Wednesdays is our new weekly column where we spotlight the best new instrumental tracks.

In the immortal words of Gwen Stefani, “don’t speak.” Just listen to these two fantastic instrumental tracks from Go To Space Die and Lehel P. after the jump.

Oh, what secret treasures lay hidden behind the drum kit. Best known as the drummer for Murder by Death, Dagan Thogerson takes the lead, the rhythm and everything else with Go To Space Die, his one man instrumental space rock project. The new album Red Air Don’t Care is an epic exploration of math rock and prog tinged guitar compositions that effortlessly split the difference between ambitious complex musical compositions and good old fashioned rock n’ roll hooks.

On the other end of the instrumental spectrum we have the latest from Lehel P. The Italian composer leaves bombast and shredding to the wayside on “tassidermia notturna,” and instead gives us a warm, dark enveloping exploration of slowly evolving minimalism. Lehel comes from the world of theatrical sound design and it shows on this track, which is less of a song in the traditional sense and more of a meditative mood with an atmosphere of uncertainty. Is it ominous? Is it hopeful? Results will vary depending on the listener, and worth the trip to find out.
