Wooo doggie, “The Nothing” by Occupants is a scorcher that leaves nothing on the field, which is appropriate as it’s a song about climate change and how that affects the sustainability of life. Puns aside, this song kicks all kinds of ass, and like the finest of ass kickings it carries a message. Swaggering like At The Drive In with a sludgier low end (in a good way), “The Nothing” feels quite the opposite from its title. This is something, something great even, and to the right teenager hearing this at the right time it will become the everything they need to unlock a whole world of punk fire.
