We’re still feeling those summer vibes coming on and here to keep those breezy feels going is [brysonthealien] with “I’m Out (Featuring Signe Baburin).” The sunshine and self love atmosphere comes courtesy of drums + bongos and a melodic bass line that is pure bubblegum soul the likes of the Jackson 5 (classic, not Victory era). Bryson’s flow is laid back and assured and rocks a bit like MF Doom during his more intimate and less verbose moments. Lyrically the song deals with recognizing the dysfunction in a relationship and moving on. Combined with the music it makes it less of a dark tale and more of a positive mantra and an affirmation. And the chorus. Good lord the chorus. If this isn’t immediately lodged in your brain upon listening you better check your hearing aide because this schoolyard singalong catchiness of this one is another level. All in all one of the more impressive hip hop tracks we’ve had come our way in long time.
