Wordless Wednesdays

Wordless Wednesdays is our column where we spotlight the best new instrumental tracks.

Today we let the music do the talking with the very best in instrumental tracks from Betweenness and Anthony Menzia.

“Ripples” by Betweenness is one of those instrumental tracks you want to listen to on high quality over the ears headphones, preferably with your eyes closed. There are tracks that are sound baths but this is a sound schvitz; relaxing, purifying and connected. Synths slowly layer and then unlayer in a combination of warm tones and bright crescendos to create the feeling of something both simple and complex at the same time.

Anthony Menzia‘s track “Asmodeus” is not technically an instrumental track, but with the vocals ran through a heavy synth effect and then mixed almost underneath the track, we’re going to count it as such. It’s a great effect and adds to the funky robot-ness of the song, because even though we may not catch the lyrics we do catch the vibe and the vibe is thicc. It’s a dense mechanical groove and at just over two minutes in length is one that is over far too soon.
