Where The Internet Took Us

Well, well, well if it isn’t Rev. Peyton’s Big Damn Band dropping yet another absolute banger of boot stomping, can shaking party blues complete with an equally fun and creative music video. This is what we in the music blog bizness call “the good shit.”

Video Debut – Tower Defense

We realize that it’s a tad odd that we, a blog that has gone on record several times about our ambivalence about music videos, would host a music video premier, but this song is so good we’re happy to oblige the request. A driving rocker with equal parts grunge muscle and indie smarts, “Under the Sea” by Tower Defense moves and grooves in a way that Sebastian the crab only wishes he could. And the video? Well even curmudgeons of the medium such as we have to admit it’s pretty cool. Check it out and then get more Tower Defense in your life here.

Where the Internet Took Us

IDLES is one of our favorite bands that we discovered while the blog was in hiatus. We could’ve easily done a While We Were Sleeping post about them (and may still do one because we definitely love them enough to keep posting about them) but we’re kicking off our week by cranking their Live at Abbey Road session that dropped last night. Who needs coffee when you have banging versions of the best songs from their back catalogue and first listens of tracks off their upcoming album Ultra Mono including this absolute ripper “War.”

Full set here. Ultra Mono is due out September 25th on Partisan Records and is available for pre-order here.

Where the Internet Took Us

Our friend Kyle Beach of the Sump Pumps recently posted this clip with the caption “This is the apex of metal.” We can’t argue that. Enjoy the shredding, the shrieking, the leather and then a surprisingly touching moment at the end.
