Well, ain’t this a charmer. “Snow In March” is an alt country number that plays out a bit like the dark epilogue to Merle Haggard’s “If We Make It Through December.” Where the Hag’s song was about having hope for better times in the spring, Boot is here to say “nope, spring’s gonna suck too dawg” (paraphrased). The song is plain spoken midwest melancholy at its finest, and should be a new country standard – at least among the indie scene.
