It was on this day in 1949 that Bruce Springsteen was born (to run, presumably in the badlands). You don’t need us to tell you about The Boss. We love him, you love him, he’s great. This Day in Music History
Our pals over at History.com informed us that it was this day in 1940 that Woody Guthrie wrote the classic “This Land is Your Land.” As Bruce Springsteen puts it in this totally sweet, glistening, clip from 1985 – it’s pretty much the greatest song ever written about America.
Dedicating this one to everyone fighting for the rights of the working class in Wisconsin, here in Indiana and everywhere else. Maybe one day this song will be a celebration song instead of a protest song.
