The B-Side: CHRiS DiViNE

Among our favorite things in hip hop is a strong point of view with something to say delivered with a tight flow. “Clout” by the Bronx’s CHRiS DiViNE delivers that and then some with a song that not only expresses the feelings of frustration, uselessness and rage of our current socio political climate, but also the desperate hope that salvation can be found in God and/or a lover. It’s a flex not unlike what Prince would do at the height of his powers, in a contemporary form.
