This year we’re upping the vanity aspect of it by sprinkling in our favorite posts of the past year, which you may have missed the first time around. We came back strong in October, with Editor’s temp job wrapped up and ChaCha on the mend, but it was still easy to pick our favorite post for that month. A bittersweet pick, this post, is full of video we shot from the final show of PE favorites Throwing Stars. This past Saturday we attended Throwing Stars final show/debut of their new music video. We shot video of the show, snagged a copy of the music video for your enjoyment and scored a sweet deal for you. All of which is below.
PE favorites, and the instigators of the greatest marquee advertisement for a show ever (see above), Throwing Stars are sadly calling it quits, but not before giving us two beautiful parting gifts. The first is the Declaration EP, which you can preview in it’s streaming entirety here, and then a farewell show at which you will probably see us crying. Last night we found ourselves back at Bloomington’s best venue, The Bishop, for another night of rock and roll via the Panic Strikes a Chord album release party – with Throwing Stars and Hard Candy Hearts. We grabbed video of all three bands for your enjoyment, check them out below.

“Battle of the Bands” is a concept we do not care for. We don’t like the idea that a wide array of wildly different styles of music can be judged against one another in any kind of logical manner. Elliott Smith vs. Iron Maiden vs. Tom Waits vs. Public Enemy vs. Muddy Waters vs. The Clash. Which one is the best? Which one is better than all of the others? Please be descriptive in your answer, and of course, show your work.
